I look forward to this time of year. Vacationing in a warmer climate? Check. Playoff football? Check. Valentine's Day? Check. Snow and cold? Well, I am a native Iowan, so, CHECK! But I've also been involved in the Call For Kids With Cancer for years now, and CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK it's almost here!
February 3rd and 4th, Simon Conway and I will be giving over our Morning and Afternoon Drive shows to raise money for the children and families who are fighting pediatric cancer and other chronic conditions at the Stead Family Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Simon and I get to meet and talk with survivors and their families and share their journeys with you. We are honored to speak with those in the midst of the journey, and the great privilege to speak with so many families of children who are dancing in heaven. The fact that parents of children who lost their battle come back to share their stories with you year after year says something powerful---they are committed to the families, to the staff, and to the kids at UI Dance marathon.
Last year, you donated an incredible $153,000! In the midst of COVID, you stepped up and brought all of us to tears. This year, we're aiming higher. We have some surprises for you, and will have great opportunities for you to match our corporate sponsors, and it's all FOR THE KIDS! #FTK
