The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Iowa
Far Northeast Missouri
* Effective this Wednesday morning and evening from 1040 AM until
700 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
to 75 mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A line of storms across west-central/north-central Iowa
around 1030 AM CDT should continue to intensify as it progresses
east-southeastward through the afternoon within an increasingly
unstable environment. Damaging winds will be an increasing concern
along with isolated large hail.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles west of Des
Moines IA to 35 miles southeast of Cedar Rapids IA. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A
