Donald Trump is apparently ‘listening’ to insiders urging him to make Florida Governor Ron DeSantis his VP pick - that's according to an exclusive report in the New York Post.
The downside is of course, that they are both from Florida and you feel that if either one of them were the Presidential nominee for the GOP, Florida would be a firm Red.
There is no law against it, but there is Article II: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.”
Now this does not come into effect unless we have a very close election. When George W Bush was running with Dick Chaney, the latter had been living and paying taxes in Texas for five years. Before the run however, he put his Texas home on the market and moved to what had become his vacation home in Wyoming. Good thing he did because we all remember how long that election took to sort out.
What do you think? Should Donald Trump pick Ron DeSantis as his running mate?
