As the Governor's School Choice Bill cleared committees in both the House and Senate yesterday, I decided to ask you two questions today about the Bill.
For the past two years, versions of the School Choice Bill have cleared the Senate and stalled out in the House, but this time things look like they might be different.
Yesterday on the show, Speaker Pat Grassley told us that a floor debate on the matter will happen next week (podcast of that interview is below). He seemed confident that this time he has the votes to get it passed.
After last year's failure, the Governor endorsed primary opponents of Republican House Reps who had stopped her Bill. They won. Now the majority is even bigger than it was.
So my two questions are simple. First of all, will Iowa Governor Reynolds get to sign School Choice into law this time? And secondly, if she does, will you be happy?
