I want to be clear. I believe the vast majority of rank and file FBI Agents are incredible people working hard in law enforcement to uphold the oaths they all took.
I'm not sure about some of the leadership however.
"The Washington Times learned that Timothy Thibault, an assistant special agent in charge, was forced to leave his post. The information came from two former FBI officials familiar with the situation.
"Mr. Thibault was seen exiting the bureau’s elevator on Friday. He was escorted by two or three “headquarters-looking types,” according to eyewitness accounts provided to one of the former officials," The Washington Times reported yesterday.
And Iowa's very own Senator Chuck Grassley is at the heart of it. The Times discovered that the 25-year-veteran Special Agent Thibault, was already on leave for about a month after Grassley started raising concerns about whistleblower claims that the FBI had obstructed its own investigations into Hunter Biden.
Grassley will be on the show today.
Last month Grassley wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray. He said that Thibault and FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten were allegedly involved in “a scheme” to “undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.”
“Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines … [and] subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future,” Grassley wrote.
So what do you think? Is the FBI corrupt?
