Tomorrow Iowans in Polk County get the opportunity to vote yes or no on increasing the local sales tax to seven per cent.
I seems that everyone on the left wants us to vote yes which would seem to me like the perfect reason to vote no which is what I will be doing.
The tactic from the cities seems to be to say that if we say no, they will increase property tax.
Nothing like threatening us to get what they want. But the thing is, that threat is probably an empty one because apart from anything else, we will not throw out politicians over sales tax, but if they push property tax too high, we will hold them accountable.
So if you have a vote, will you be using it to increase the sales tax in Polk county?
