CR to Host Second Crown Rally Event

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- More than 100 unique and exotic cars from all over the region will be in Cedar Rapids on July 20 for the Crown Rally Cedar Rapids Block Party.

The Crown Rally is a driving competition in the Midwest that raises money for charity. It has raised more than $150,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation to date and organizers hope to raise $60,000 for the foundation in 2018. The Crown Rally has also donated 75 cars to Kars 4 Kids.

Stops for the rally have included Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Nashville. This year it returns to Cedar Rapids after a successful event in 2017.

“Pulling into Cedar Rapids and having thousands of people from the community on the bridge (3rd Avenue Bridge) welcoming us to town was the number one highlight of the 2017 rally,” Co-Founder of Crown Rally Justin Brouwer said.

Go Cedar Rapids and Crown Rally have moved this year's event off the 3rd Avenue Bridge to create a block party on five blocks in downtown Cedar Rapids.

The rally is free and open to the public and will have a $10 million car collection on display from 4:30 - 11 p.m.

In addition to the block party on July 20, the Crown Rally cars will be on display at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmer's Market on July 21 before they go to Hawkeye Downs for the Crown Rally x Midwest Uprising Car Show.
