Heat and high humidity return to eastern Iowa to finish off the workweek. Highs will reach the lower 90s both Thursday and Friday. Dew points are going to soar well into the 70s, the highest they’ve been since last week. The combination of heat and humidity will push heat indices to around 100 degrees in the afternoons. It may occasionally get as high as 105, mainly toward southern and central Iowa.
Since we’ve had this happen several times this season, we’re a bit more used to this type of weather. However, it’s still important to remember to take breaks in cooler conditions and stay hydrated. There won’t be much of a breeze either day to take the edge off the heat.
