Special Elections Across Area Today

People in six eastern Iowa communities will be heading to the polls Tuesday.

Cascade is asking voters to support a $2 million bond issue for a new swimming pool.

Voters in Decorah will say whether they want the city to form its own electric utility.

In University Heights, voters will decide on a $1.8 million bond issue that would pay for land the city would use as a park and green space.

West Branch would like voters to impose a seven percent hotel and motel tax that would partially be used for tourist and convention business.

Clayton County has two elections:

In Strawberry Point, voters will decide whether to expand the use of a one percent local sales and services tax to include improvements for EMS and the fire department.

And in North Buena Vista, there is a special election to fill a city council vacancy. That election is between James Ludovissy and Robert J. Ludovissy.

You need to bring a voter ID to the polls. They will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
