IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa baseball team continues its homestead hosting Missouri on Tuesday and Western Illinois on Wednesday at Duane Banks Field. Tuesday’s game will begin at 3:05 p.m. (CT), while Wednesday will be a 6:05 p.m. first pitch.
The Hawkeyes are 26-14 overall after taking two-of-three games against seventh-ranked Michigan last weekend for their third Big Ten series win this season. Iowa won the series opener, 4-2, and rallied for a walk-off win in the rubber match Sunday.
Mizzou brings a 29-15 overall record to Iowa City, while Western Illinois is 10-25 overall this season.
Kameron Misner leads the Tigers offense with a .360 batting average with four home runs, nine doubles, three triples, and 25 RBIs. The sophomore owns a .576 slugging percentage with 72 total bases.
The Leathernecks have two players at .300 or above in the box with senior Mitch Ellis leading the squad in batting average (.353) and junior Deion Thompson leading in RBIs (18) and hits (34).
Senior Tyler Cropley leads the Hawkeyes in batting average (.367), slugging percentage (.599), hits (54), RBIs (34), doubles (16). Junior Chris Whelan follows with a .320 batting average with three home runs and three doubles.
The Hawkeyes will start left-hander Trenton Wallace against Missouri on Tuesday. The Rock Island, Illinois, native is 1-0 with a 4.29 ERA over 21 innings of work. The freshman has allowed 22 hits, walked seven, while striking out 24.
The Tigers will counter with right-hander Brian Sharp. The junior is making his fourth start this season and is 4-0 with a 2.16 ERA in eight appearances. The Liberty, Missouri, native has pitched 25 innings allowing 21 hits, while walking six and fanning 26.

Following the midweek games, the Hawkeyes will host No. 17 Oklahoma State for a three-game series at Duane Banks Field from May 4-6.
