Planned Parenthood Case Heard by Supreme Court

The Iowa Supreme Court began to hear arguments at 9:00 this morning about a controversial abortion law. Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa are challenging Iowa's new 72-hour waiting period for abortions.

The new law requires a woman to make two trips to a doctor's office, and then wait three days before obtaining an abortion. The ACLU and Planned Parenthood say the law violates a woman's due process and equal protection rights.
