IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa women’s basketball sophomore Makenzie Meyer suffered a fourth metacarpal fracture in her left hand in practice on Wednesday afternoon. Meyer’s progress will be reevaluated in two weeks to determine a return-to-play timeline.
Meyer, a native of Mason City, Iowa, has started all 13 games for the Hawkeyes this season. She is averaging 11.3 points, 5.0 assists, 1.7 rebounds and is shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from 3-point range.
Iowa (12-1) opens Big Ten play tonight at Wisconsin. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. (CT) from the Kohl Center.
