(Iowa) -- A new survey shows a surprising number of Iowans used AI in generating their NCAA tournament brackets.

New survey data from Hard Rock Bet show 62% of fans in Iowa said their brackets were based on personal knowledge or gut instinct, while 38% said they used AI to help fill out their brackets. Less than 1% of Iowans say they based their brackets on the vibe of a given team.

Iowa's numbers do not closely follow national trends. 57% of Americans surveyed say they relied on AI to create their brackets, while 39% say they based their brackets on gut instinct or personal knowledge. Americans overall are more trusting of a team's "vibes" than Iowans, with 4% overall saying they based their brackets on team vibes.
