(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The principal of a Cedar Rapids school is defending hiring practices after social media posts about a teacher.
The principal of Taft Middle School sent a letter to parents after news articles about past accusations against an educator at the school started circulating.
Principal Jessiah Gilchrist says there were no convictions against the teacher and the issues were resolved.
Gilchrist added that the educator passed a rigorous background check and vetting of the accusations by CRCSD human resources staff.
