(Iowa) -- A new survey from AAA shows Iowans are ready for a vacation.
The survey finds 33% of Iowans are planning to take more vacations this year than they did in 2025, with 49% saying they're planning to take multiple trips this year and 34% planning 2-3 vacations of 3 days or more in 2026. In Iowa, 47% of Iowans say they prefer road trips as their preferred mode of travel for vacations. Beach vacations, major metropolitan areas like New York and New Orleans, and state and national parks are popular vacation destinations for Iowans.
AAA finds 24% of Iowans say spring break and year-end holidays are the most popular times for travel, while 18% say they plan to travel for Thanksgiving. More information is available through the AAA Consumer Pulse survey.
