(Linn County, IA) -- Linn County now has zoning rules for data centers in unincorporated parts of the county.
The Board of Supervisors is approving an ordinance that regulates building setbacks, noise standards, traffic and road impacts, emergency planning and site plan review.
Larger projects will also need to complete a water use study.
The rules won't affect data centers being built within city limits.
