(Iowa City, IA) -- Members of the Iowa Community School District board are demanding answers from the Superintendent.

They want to know why he didn't notify them about a $10-million loan taken from the health insurance fund to cover District expenses last summer.

Superintendent Matt Degner says he was told the state said notifying the Board wasn't necessary.

The Board has since approved the loan.

Next week, they plan on discussing budget reductions to offset a deficit.
