(Coralville, IA) -- The city of Coralville will go back to the drawing board to find a contractor for their planned recreation center.
Coralville City Council voted down city staff's recommendation of Russell Construction of Bettendorf over concerns about the bidding process.
Some council members say they had issues with when references were vetted.
The city says the change won't affect the schedule for the $54-million dollar center which includes three gyms, an elevated track, a spa and three pools.
The plan is to start construction this summer and have the center open in 2028.
