An 18-year-old is dead after Marion Police say he advanced toward officers with a machete.
It happened in the 4100 block of Deer Valley Drive just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Police say responding officers spoke with the man for about three minutes, the man began advancing toward police with a machete.
Officers ordered the man to stop, before a taser was ineffectively deployed. Police then fired a single shot. The 18-year-old later died at a local hospital.
Police have not released the identity of the man but say he lived in the area of the shooting.
