(Linn County, IA) -- Linn County workers and elected officials will be getting a 4% raise.

The Board of Supervisors approved the increase by a two-to-one vote from an unexpected budget surplus for the upcoming fiscal year.

The surplus allowed them to increase a planned 3.5% pay bump by an additional half-percent.

Republican Brandy Meisheid was the only no vote saying that extra half-percent could have been spent on other county projects.
