(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- After another emotional three-hour long meeting, the Cedar Rapids Community School Distirct has a plan to address a $12-milllion budget deficit.
The bulk of the savings will come from a reduction in raises for teachers and principals, staffing based on enrollment, and eliminating consulting services.
The District is also backing off plans to close seven schools next year.
The board says it will reevaluate any closure plans and revisit the issue in April.
