(Iowa) -- While a new study shows most Iowans shop online, Iowa ranks among the bottom half of states for online shopping activity.

Web development site MobiLoud looked at online shopping data from all 50 states across three metrics: the share of residents who shop online, the likelihood of making online purchases, and online searches for shopping. Iowa ranked 30th on the list, with 75.47% of Iowans shopping online. Iowa averages about 9,631 online shopping searches per 100 thousand internet users. MobiLoud says the online shopping patters in Iowa show a more selected, needs-based approach to online shopping, as opposed to constant browsing and impulse purchases.

The top 5 states with the highest online shopping activity include:

  1. New Hampshire
  2. Vermont
  3. Delaware
  4. Connecticut
  5. Washington
