Cedar Rapids Schools Surveying Families On Budget Deficit Reduction Plans

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Community School District is looking for family feedback on recommendations to try and resolve a $10-12 million budget deficit.

The District board reviewed recommendations yesterday that would see the introduction of Intermediate 5th and 6th grade schools that could shave $1.5-million of operating costs at several schools.

Another recommendation would cut staff to the tune of $4.2-million in savings.
