Iowa to Receive $209 Million in Federal Funding for Healthy Hometowns Plan

(Iowa) -- The state of Iowa will receive millions in federal funds for a proposal to improve healthcare in rural areas.

$209 million will go toward the state's Health Hometowns plan aimed at strengthening healthcare in rural communities. The plan will receive the federal funding for its first year of implementation. Under the $50 billion dollar Rural Health Transformation Program, all 50 states will be awarded federal funding for efforts to strengthen and modernize rural healthcare nationwide.
