Delta Plane Slides Off Runway At Des Moines International Airport

(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines International Airport is closed after a Delta plane slid off the runway. Approximately 10pm on Saturday Delta 5087 was arriving from Detroit during the winter storm. Temperatures were in the 20s, with blowing snow and wind. No passengers were injured.  The flight took off from Detroit at 7:44pm EST.

Sarah Hoodjer, DSM Airport tells NewsRadio 1040 WHO, "The aircraft remains on pavement at this time and will be moved once it is formally released by the National Transportation Safety Board."

DSM Airport says there is no timeline for reopening.
