(Butler County, IA) -- One person is injured following a Thanksgiving officer-involved shooting in Butler County. The Butler County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to reports of a man firing into a home with several people trapped inside. When law enforcement arrived, an Iowa State Patrol trooper encountered the suspect, both shot at each other. The suspect was shot several times and is hospitalized but expected to survive. No one else was injured.
