Iowa Supreme Court Finds Cedar Rapids Didn't Violate Open Meetings Law

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids didn't break the law when it held a job interview for its current city clerk in closed session.

The Iowa Supreme Court is vacating an appeals court ruling that decided the city did break Iowa's Open Meetings Law when it closed the interview with Alissa Van Sloten to the public six years ago.

A retired federal prosecutor brought the lawsuit against the city.
