(Clinton, IA) -- A popular music event won't be returning to eastern Iowa next summer.

Clinton City Council has decided not to renew the contract for the Tailgate-N-Tallboys country music festival.

The city says the event suffered heavy losses in its three years of existence.

Opponents of a new contract that would have seen the city take over the full budget want the festival to be more local, and more affordable.

Supporters say they'd like to see it evolve into more than a music festival--maybe something more like Riverboat Days.
