(Iowa) -- A delegation led by Iowa Secretary of State Mike Naig is back in Iowa after a trade mission to southeast Asia.
Naig and the 12-member delegation of representatives from Iowa's grain and protein industries visited Vietnam and Indonesia from November 14th through the 23rd. The mission was coordinated by the Iowa Economic Development Authority and focused on strengthening Iowa's trade relationships with two of southeast Asia's fastest-growing markets.
In 2024, Vietnam purchased more than $4.5 billion dollars worth of U.S. agricultural products. Indonesia imported $3.8 billion dollars of agriculture products during that same year. Iowa companies exported roughly $223.4 million in ag products to Vietnam in 2024 as well as $297.6 million to Indonesia.
