(Iowa) -- The number of unclaimed properties turned over to the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt sets a new record.
State Treasurer Roby Smith says 549,842 new unclaimed properties were turned over to the state's unclaimed property program during the most recent reporting cycle, totaling $71,777,606.73. The previous record was set in 2024. So far, the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt has returned over $416 million dollars worth of unclaimed property to rightful owners and heirs.
Iowans can search their name on GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov to see if any cash, stocks, or other unclaimed items belong to them.
