(Keokuk County, IA) - A man sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for negligence in connection with a hayride accident in eastern Iowa two years ago is out on bail.
Daniel Brubaker was sentenced in September after admitting he'd been drinking when he drove a pickup towing middle schoolers on a hayrack into a ditch in Keokuk County.
Thirteen middle schoolers were injured in the crash.
Brubaker posted a $15,000 bond Thursday and is now out of jail while awaiting an appeal of his conviction.
Former Keokuk County Sheriff's deputy David Heady was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his part in the accident last month.
