(Iowa City, IA) -- It's been seven years in the making, but the Iowa Board of Regents is finally turning over land for a 36-acre trail in University Heights.

The paved, handicap accessible trail will be just a couple of blocks from Kinnick Stadium.

The project is expected to cost around $850,000.

University Heights will cover some of the cost, with the rest covered by grants.

The time line is contingent on the funding.
