(Coralville, IA) -- Another Corridor city is being lobbied to protect immigrant worker's rights.
A group joined by newly elected Coralville City Council member Katie Freeman wants the city to pass a Due Process and Workplace Safety Resolution.
The resolution would reaffirm residents’ Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable and warrantless searches.
The move comes after a social media video showing an immigrant man being arrested at his workplace at an Iowa City bakery went viral in September.
Similar 4th amendment reaffirmation efforts are underway in Iowa City and Johnson County.
