(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- An Iowa State Senator and longtime teacher is calling on three Cedar Rapids Community School District board members to resign after the latest bond referendum failed at the polls.
Senator Molly Donahue of Iowa District 37, which comprises most of Marion, says the failure of the bond that would have improved four schools happened because school board leadership has lost the trust of the community.
She cites poor communication, a lack of transparency, and a disconnect from educators and parents as the reasons for the loss of trust.
The Board has yet to respond to the letter.
