(Iowa City, IA) -- Dozens of citizens showed up at the Iowa City City Council meeting last night to demand that their rights be protected.

Counselors were encouraged by several speakers to vote for a Fourth Amendment resolution passed by the city's Human Rights Commission on Sunday.

Council did not take a vote on the measure that would show the city's support of Constitutional protections against warrantless or baseless searches.

Demands to pass the measure come after video of the arrest of an immigrant man at a bakery in Iowa City went viral online in September.
