(Iowa) -- A new national study ranks Iowa as one of the best states in the nation for children.

Non-profit organization SmileHub looked at all 50 states and ranked Iowa as the 10th best state for children. The study looked at four key metrics, including health and wellness, support system strength, education system, and family and working life. Iowa ranked 6th in the nation for high school graduation rates and 8th in the country for low childcare costs relative to household income. Iowa also scored well in number of children ages 0 to 17 who live in a supportive neighborhood as well as charities per capita statewide.

Massachusetts came in as the number 1 best state for children overall, with Nevada coming in last at number 50. The full study is available on SmileHub's website.
