(Iowa) -- The Iowa Attorney General's Office concludes a deadly officer-involved shooting last month in Greene County was justified.
In a report released Monday, the Attorney General's Office says Boone Police Department Officer Marshall Moore was legally justified in shooting Camryn Stonehocker on September 6th. Investigators say Moore tried to pull Stonehocker over after seeing a tail light out on his truck. Stonehocker refused to stop, leading officers on a chase. He eventually stopped, but pulled a large knife and moved toward the officers, pointing the knife at them and refusing commands to drop the weapon. When Stonehocker turned toward another officer, Officer Moore opened fire. Stonehocker died of his injuries on the way to the hospital.
The Attorney General's Office must review every instance of officer-involved conduct that results in death as part of Iowa Code section 13.12. The full report is available on the Iowa Attorney General's website.
