(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The city of Cedar Rapids is being accused of redrawing property lines to accommodate a fence to deter protesters at an ICE facility.

DHS applied to the city for a permit to build a seven foot fence around the Cedar Rapids ICE facility on Square D Road this week.

Immigrant advocacy group Escucha Mi Voz says the city altered a map to eliminate the public right-of-way and avoid an obstruction permit for the fence, leaving them no room to peacefully protest.

The group says the city made the alteration without any public oversight.

The city says the line was misinterpreted when the original 1974 paper map was digitally mapped.
