(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- It looks like plans for an energy plant near the Eastern Iowa Airport are no longer in play.
Alliant Energy says it is deprioritizing the Fairfax site and looking at other locations.
The utility didn't give a reason for the change, but several groups have expressed concerns with the location including the Eastern Iowa Airport.
Airport officials were worried output from the plant's smokestacks could interfere with aircraft landing on a proposed runway.
