(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- After years of starts, stops, and changes, work to revitalize a Cedar Rapids school has finally begun.

The School District is breaking ground on building renovations at historic Harrison Elementary.

The District says the project will improve ADA access, and modernize the building while preserving its historic features.

Students from Madison Elementary will join Harrison students at the newly renovated school once the upgrades are completed for the 2027-28 school year.
