(Moline, IL) -- More layoffs are coming to John Deere.

The Quad-Cities based farm machinery manufacturer is announcing a total of 141 additional layoffs in Iowa in September.

101 Deere workers will be laid off in Waterloo, Iowa effective October 17. 40 more will be laid off at the Deere Works in Ankeny, on October 31.

Another 71 workers in Waterloo were previously notified that they will be laid off September 22, and 167 more workers at Deere plants on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities.

John Deere says the slowing agriculture economy is behind the job cuts. Deere has laid off 2,200 workers since the Spring of 2024.
