(Fairfax, IA) -- A new energy plant planned for Fairfax could interfere with planes taking off and landing at Eastern Iowa Airport.

Pilots and airport staff raised those concerns again last night at a Fairfax City Council meeting.

Alliant Energy is proposing a new utility plant near 76th Avenue Southwest just a few miles from the airport.

Alliant says its exploring other site locations for the proposed facility proposal, but did not provide more detail.
