(Ottumwa, IA) -- An Iowa woman is facing new charges for a failed jailbreak after falling through the ceiling.
The Wapello [[ WAH-puh-loh ]] County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Morgan West tried to crawl into the ceiling on August 28th while being held on probation and theft warrants. Officials say the ceiling tiles could not support her weight, and officers watching on surveillance cameras quickly stopped her after she fell to the floor.
West, who was not injured, is now also charged with felony attempted escape.
