(Linn County, IA) -- Linn County residents will have their last chance to chime in on a proposed nuclear energy ordinance this morning.

The Linn County Board of Supervisors is holding a public hearing, then taking a final vote on the ordinance at 10:00 a.m. at the Jean Oxley Public Service Center.

The proposal includes creating an exclusive-use zoning district for nuclear energy generation and waste storage facilities.

NextEra has applied to restart Iowa's only nuclear plant in Palo that they shuttered in 2020.
