(Burlington, IA) -- A candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives is switching races.

Democrat Bob Krause says he's ending a run for Iowa's 1st Congressional District and now running to replace Iowa U.S. Senator Joni Ernst.

A report Friday said Ernst will soon announce she doesn't intend to seek a third term.

Krause, a former state representative, and U.S. Army veteran from Burlington says a Senate run is a better fit for him.

Krause is now endorsing Christina Bohannan in the Iowa 1st Congressional District race.
