(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa's Kirk Ferentz has tied coaching legend Woody Hayes as the winningest head coach in Big Ten history.
Ferentz earned his two-hundred-fifth victory Saturday as the Hawkeyes beat Albany thirty-four-to-seven in their season opener. Ferentz, now in his twenty-seventh season at Iowa, tied the record Hayes set during his own twenty-seven seasons at Ohio State.
IU's coach will have a chance to break the record next week when Iowa travels to Ames for the annual Cy-Hawk game against Iowa State.
