Study: Iowa Ranks Low on List of States Expecting Price Increases

(Iowa) -- A new national study ranks Iowa low on the list of states where businesses are expected to raise prices in the next six months.

Lending Tree looked at data from businesses in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., comparing December of 2024 to June of this year. Iowa ranked 33rd on the list of states where businesses expect to raise prices in the next six months. In June of this year, 29.7% of Iowa businesses said they expect price increases within six months, a decrease of 8.4% compared to December of 2024.

The top five states where businesses expect price increases over the next six months include:

  1. Rhode Island
  2. New Hampshire
  3. Montana
  4. Washington
  5. Oregon

West Virginia is the state where the fewest number of businesses say they expect price increases within the next six months. Nationwide, nearly 1 in 3 businesses expect prices to go up in the next six months.
