Gowrie Man Sentenced to Life for 'Pure Evil' Murder of Teen

(Rockwell City, IA) -- A Gowrie man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for a murder a judge called "pure evil."

Twenty-two-year-old Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney was sentenced Friday for the 2024 stabbing death of 17-year-old Michele "Luna" Jackson. Jackson was killed in a park in the small town of Farnhamville, and her body was later found in a trash bin. The judge also gave Bevers-McGivney a consecutive ten-year sentence for abuse of a corpse.

Prosecutors never provided a motive for the killing. Bevers-McGivney was also ordered to pay 150-thousand dollars to Jackson's estate.
