(Iowa) -- A special traffic enforcement project looking for impaired drivers across Iowa begins Friday.
The Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau is partnering with law enforcement agencies across the state on the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over project from Friday, August 15th through Monday, September 1st, which includes Labor Day weekend. Drivers can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence on roads throughout the state during that time.
GTSB says 45 people died in the final four weeks of summer in 2024, with 30% of those deaths involving impaired drivers.
