Heat Advisory In Effect For North and Central Iowa

(Des Moines, IA) -- A heat advisory will be in effect today for parts of northern and central Iowa. The National Weather Service has issued the advisory from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM this evening.

Heat indices are expected to reach up to 105 degrees, with actual air temperatures in the low 90s. High heat index values can lead to heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion, heat stroke and dehydration.
